Program About
The Machine Program, which is part of the Edremit Vocational School's Department of Machinery and Metal Technologies, began its educational activities in the 1994-1995 academic year as the "Machine Technician Program." In the 1999 academic year, the Computer-Aided Design Program was established and later merged with the Machine Program, continuing its education and training activities. The Machine Program's application workshops, namely the Machining Workshop (Talaşlı İmalat Atölyesi) and the Non-Machining Workshop (Talaşsız İmalat Atölyesi), were established with project support from the South Marmara Development Agency. The application workshops are equipped with a sufficient amount of machinery and equipment. The program continues its education within the scope of First Education (Daytime Education) with a quota of 40 students.
The main objective of the program is to graduate intermediate staff with the title of technician, capable of performing machine manufacturing processes (such as machining, non-machining, and welding) required by the industry, gaining occupational safety confidence, performing machine maintenance and repair services, reading manufacturing drawings, designing machine parts, carrying out computer-aided design and production applications, and serving institutions and organizations operating in the machinery sector.
In the program, which is heavily focused on practical training, students gain knowledge and experience for sectoral applications through the 3+1 system, achieving the competence to be employed in public institutions and the private sector operating in the field of machinery and metal technologies after graduation.
Mission and Vision
Our Mission: The mission of the Machine Program is to graduate intermediate staff with the title of technician for institutions and organizations operating in the machine sector, by enabling them to perform machine manufacturing processes (such as machining, non-machining/non-cutting production, and welding) required by the industry, gain occupational safety confidence, perform machine maintenance and repair services, read manufacturing drawings, design machine parts, and carry out computer-aided design and production applications.
Our Vision: The vision of the Machine Program is to be a reputable and leading Vocational School Program at the national and international level through community service aimed at meeting the industry's need for sought-after technical personnel, by: collaborating with the industry, following technological developments and transferring them to students, establishing the necessary CNC and CAD/CAM laboratories for the program, ensuring more students complete their undergraduate studies through vertical transfer (Dikey Geçiş) and non-examination transfers (Sınavsız Geçiş), monitoring graduates after completion and providing guidance for employment to prevent unemployment among graduates.
Program Educational Objectives The main objective of the Machine Program is to train qualified intermediate personnel who possess theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of machinery and metal technologies and can contribute to the sector. In this context, the educational objectives of the program are as follows:
To train technicians who can perform machine manufacturing processes (such as machining, non-machining/non-cutting production, and welding) required by the industry, have gained occupational safety confidence, and have developed practical skills.
To provide the technical competence to perform machine maintenance and repair services.
To train individuals who can identify laboratory tools and equipment specific to their field and use this equipment safely and effectively.
To graduate individuals who can develop behaviors appropriate to professional ethics, assume responsibility in work processes, and produce solutions to problems.
To train qualified, sought-after technical personnel who can read manufacturing drawings, design machine parts, and carry out computer-aided design and production applications.
To train individuals who can develop innovative approaches in production processes by following current technological developments.
To equip students with entrepreneurial competence, providing them with the qualifications to establish and manage their own businesses.
To offer a comprehensive education and application infrastructure that will increase employability in the public and private sectors.
