International Research on Strengthening Aircraft Composites from Our Faculty Member
The academic study titled "Effect of patch geometry and resin type on mechanical properties of repairing deep scratch damage to aircraft composites," prepared by Prof. Dr. Raif SAKİN, a Faculty Member of the Department of Machinery and Metal Technologies at our Vocational School, along with Muharrem Er, Can Çivi, and Gökhan Eyici, has been published in Materials Research Express, a prestigious journal indexed in the SCI index.
This work investigated the effect of patch geometry and resin type on the mechanical properties of repairing small damage, such as deep scratches, in aircraft composites. It achieved a tensile strength recovery of up to 94%, thereby providing a unique contribution to fast, portable, and high-efficiency repair methods in aviation.
We congratulate Prof. Dr. Raif SAKİN for this significant work, which offers valuable contributions to the academic field and applied engineering, and wish him continued success.
