Balıkesir University MEYOK Joint Mechanical Program Board Meeting Was Held
The Mechanical Programs of Balıkesir and Edremit Vocational Schools, operating under the Balıkesir University Coordination Department of Vocational Schools (MEYOK), held an online Joint Program Board Meeting to strengthen inter-program academic harmony and contribute to accreditation efforts. The meeting, attended by program coordinators, comprehensively evaluated the educational objectives, program outcomes, and course information packages of the Mechanical Programs. The discussions covered the alignment of the programs' institutional identity with their educational objectives, the relationship between program outcomes and measurement-evaluation methods, the compatibility of curricula and ECTS values, internship applications, accreditation processes, and improvement activities to be carried out in line with internal and external stakeholder feedback.
As a result of the evaluations, it was determined that the educational objectives, goals, and measurement-evaluation approaches established in accordance with the programs' visions and missions are compatible with each other. Furthermore, compliance with MEDEK (Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association) criteria was verified to ensure standardization in program outcomes.
The meeting also evaluated the "3+1 Workplace Vocational Training Model" currently implemented in the programs, along with ongoing accreditation preparations. Taking these processes into account, it was decided to maintain the academic stability of current course contents, sustain the alignment of course information packages with program outcomes, and conduct necessary improvement efforts in a planned manner. Additionally, a resolution was passed to maintain inter-program cooperation in order to carry out potential future updates to educational materials and curriculum plans through joint efforts based on current data and stakeholder opinions, and to implement the required revisions.
With this meeting, it is aimed to strengthen a common quality approach in educational processes among the Joint Mechanical Programs under Balıkesir University MEYOK, to standardize program outcomes, and to effectively sustain accreditation efforts.
